Description

The MV Agusta 500 4C is an Italian racing motorcycle that debuted on the track in 1950 and competed in the Grand Prix series until 1966. The power unit was a 4-cylinder 500 cm3 engine, which, however, evolved in the period 1950-1966 and, if in 1956 it was able to generate up to 65 HP, while in 1966 it already generated 70 HP. The presented motorcycle was developed by an Italian company Meccanica Verghera Agusta (abbreviated: MV Agusta), and its founder was the Italian aristocrat Domenico Agusta. In the first versions, its "heart" was an engine developed by Piero Remor for the needs of motorcycles produced by Gilera. This borrowing of a key element of the motorcycle made the development work on the first bike MV Agusta 500 4C only took 15 weeks! Of course, over time, the structure was subject to evolution and development. Without a doubt, the MV Agusta 500 4C and its later, 3-cylinder version, were one of the most successful and titled motorcycle designs of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. In the period 1950-1976, the competitors taking part in them won as many as 18 world championships in the 500 class!
