Admiral Chabanenko is a modern Russian classic-propelled destroyer. The keel for this unit was laid in 1989, the launch took place in June 1994, and entry into service took place in 1999. The total length of the ship is 163.5 meters and a width of 19.3 meters. Full displacement is approximately 7,600 tons and maximum speed is approximately 35 knots. The on-board armament of the ship includes: two quadruple SS-N-22 rocket launchers, eight 8-track SA-N-9 rocket launchers, one twin 130mm gun or two 30mm Kortik sets. The unit is based on two Kamow Ka-27 helicopters.
Admiral Czabanienko is the only Udaloy II class destroyer built and active so far (project 1155.1). The unit is essentially a modernization of the project, the Udaloj I class destroyed the first analytical work on this modernization started in 1982 and aimed at creating a more universal unit than the Udaloj I ships, highly specialized in anti-submarine warfare activities. When the submarine Admiral Czabanienko entered service, it differed significantly from its predecessors. First of all, it had modified artillery and missile weapons, as well as similar, but modified electronic equipment - especially fire control systems and bow sonar. Admiral Czabanienko is still in active service. It is worth adding that she was the first Soviet / Russian ship to cross the Panama Canal after 1945 - she did so in 2008.
