Description

Planet Models 1:48 Arado Ar-95 A/W Resin Kit

The German Arado Ar-95 bomber-torpedo plane, in the biplane configuration, was the work of Eng. Walter Blume. The first Ar 95V1 was equipped with two metal floats and was powered by a BMW 132 Dc nine-cylinder air-cooled engine with 647 kW (880 hp). He made his first test flights in the fall of 1936. Soon after, the second Ar 95V2 prototype started with a 411 kW (600 HP) in-line, liquid-cooled Jumo 210 Ca engine. Due to the unsatisfactory performance of the second prototype, due to the installation of an engine with insufficient power, the Ar 95V2 also received a BMW engine. The next V3 and Ar 95V5 prototypes were designed as three-seater planes and were intended for reference machines of the serial version of the Ar 95A seaplane. The Ar 95V4 prototype had a wheeled chassis with large aerodynamic fairings and was the model version of the machine for the land version of the Ar 95B. Tests with all five prototypes have shown that the Ar 95's performance is not outstanding, and the aircraft will be obsolete when the first aircraft carrier is commissioned in the Kriegsmarine. In connection with the above, new requirements for on-board aircraft were announced, resulting in the Ar 195 and Fi 167 constructions. In the meantime, Arado plants released a small series of Ar 95 A-0 aircraft and began efforts to find foreign buyers, which resulted in the export of a small amount machines to Spain. Technical data: Top speed: 300 km / h; maximum ceiling 7,300 m, maximum range: 1,095 km, armament: fixed - 2 machine guns 7.92mm, suspended - 6 bombs or 1 torpedo.
