Description

Snap together plastic model kit, not paints or glues required.

The Toyota 2000GT is a Japanese sports passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1965 at the Tokyo Motor Show. Its series production started two years later and only lasted until 1970 - only 351 examples of this vehicle were made, along with prototypes.

The 2000GT model was developed and put into production as a result of cooperation between Yamaha and Toyota, primarily in order to enter the latter company into the sports car segment and replace the Toyota Sports 800 car. The main designers of the car were Jiro Kawana and Satoru Nozaki. The car's styling clearly referred to the Jaguar E-Type, also using a very streamlined and aerodynamic body. The engine used was 6-cylinder units with a capacity of 2.0 and 2.3 liters. The car accelerated to 220 km / h and its acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h was 8.4 seconds, which was a good result at that time. It was also characterized by good traction properties, solid workmanship and relatively low unreliability. It could be compared to the Porsche 911. The successor of the 2000GT model in Toyota's offer was, among others, Celica and Supra models.
