Description

Product Description: 1:18 Scale Holden Racing Team #22 Holden VF Commodore - 2014 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 - Drivers: James Courtney / Greg Murphy

Limited Edition Number: 186

Product Specifications: Die-cast model car with detailed interior and opening parts (bonnet and all 4 doors)

About This Product:

The Holden Racing Team without doubt holds a special place in the heart of many red-blooded Australian motorsport fans.

From 1989 to 2016, HRT raced a variety of famous Commodores across Australia and on occasion, internationally. With the iconic Holden lion and helmet motif ever evolving and sprawling down the sides of their cars, they were the all conquering, unmistakable Holden factory team for a long time and boast a storied history.

2014 was the second year of racing the VF Commodore platform for the Holden Racing Team in what was Holden's 45th year of factory involvement in Australian motorsport, so their cars needed to reflect the prestigious nature of being the offical factory backed squad. And they did.

The striking day-glo red used in the livery and wheels worked in perfect unison with the white body and silver lion and helmet motif which was now featured on the front doors again. With Mobil 1 on the bonnet and stylised car numbers on the roof, the 2014 HRT livery was a real standout and sits among their best looks during this era.

At the Bathurst 1000 the #22 HRT Commodore boasted an impressive driver line up with 2010 series champion James Courtney and 4-time race winner Greg Murphy sharing the duties behind the wheel. It would be Murphy's last appearance at Bathurst racing a Holden Racing Team Commodore, the team he famously won Bathurst with in 1996 alongside Craig Lowndes. It was very nearly his last time racing at the Mountain entirely if not for a splendid Wildcard appearance with Richie Stanaway and Erebus Motorsport in 2022.

Ultimately the race result didn't favour the Cortney/Murphy driver combo but it's undeniable that the 2014 HRT Bathurst 1000 VF Commodore really looked incredible, it's one of our favourites here at AC and this 1:18 scale model will be an another awesome addition for fans with collections featuring models from this historic team, The Great Race and drivers.

It has been produced in die-cast with high detail and opening parts which include the bonnet and all four doors. It comes in an exclusive limited edition of 186 with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
