Description

The LGOC B-type was a British double-decker passenger bus from the beginning of the 20th century and the First World War period. The vehicle entered production in 1910. Its maximum speed, under very favorable circumstances and without passengers, reached approx. 55 km / h. The B-Type bus was constructed by LGOC, i.e. London General Omnibus Company and was also primarily operated by them. Frank Searl is considered to be its main constructor, who was tasked with creating a vehicle that would be replaced on the streets of London by the X-Type bus, by the same manufacturer. Finally, a bus that was successful at that time was created, capable of taking 34 passengers and characterized by a low degree of unreliability. Coaches B-Type they were also the first truly large-scale diesel buses in the UK. They first appeared on the streets in 1911, and by 1913 about 2,500 of these vehicles had been built! It is also worth adding that buses of this type were also used militarily during World War I to transport the army.
