Description

Trams from the X series (or: Kh) are a series of high-floor trams of Soviet production from the interwar period and World War II. A single tram of this type was 10.27 m long, approx. 2.46 m wide and approx. 3.27 m high (without the pantograph). The maximum speed of the tram did not exceed 40 km / h. The vehicle could provide up to 24 seats for passengers. The first prototypes of the presented rail vehicle appeared in 1927, and serial production was carried out in 1928-1941. More than 2,000 trams of this type have certainly been built in its course. The first copies went to the city of Kharkiv in today's Ukraine, but relatively quickly the X-series trams became one of the basic rail vehicles of this type in many cities of the Soviet Union. Their production continued until the beginning of the German-Soviet war (1941-1945). Interestingly, some of these trams were still in use in the Soviet Union in the 1960s!
