Description

Howitzer wz.14 / 19 is a Czechoslovak, towed, 100 mm howitzer from the First and Second World War. The first prototypes of the guns were built before the First World War, and series production began in 1914. The maximum range was 9,900 m, and the initial velocity of the projectile - 395 m / s. The rate of fire was up to 8 rounds per minute.

Howitzer wz.14 / 19 caliber 100 mm, was built at the Skoda factory, initially for the needs of the Austro-Hungarian and Italian armies. After 1918, when Czechoslovakia gained independence, the production of this weapon was resumed in a modified version with an extended barrel. Such a modified wz.14 / 19 howitzer was exported in the interwar period to Italy, Yugoslavia and Poland, where in the period 1928-1939 it was under license production at plants in Starachowice and Stalowa Wola (from 1939). Howitzer wz.14 / 19 turned out to be a very successful weapon, relatively cheap to produce, with good ballistic parameters. At the time of the outbreak of World War II, the Polish Army had approximately 900 howitzers of this type in stock.
