Pit 1:35 JGSDF Type 82 Command & Comms Vehicle

The Type 82 is a command post vehicle of Japanese origin. It was developed to serve as a mobile command post for mechanized forces.

Layout
The Type 82 is a 6x6 wheeled vehicle The drive is seated at the front and the engine is located at the center right. The rear compartment features a reased roofline in order to provide enough space for the 5 men crew.

Firepower
The Type 82 command post is armed with a single pintle mounted 12.7mm M2HB heavy machine gun. This is to be used primarily for self-defense, since the Type 82 is not meant for frontline combat.

Protection
The armor protects the crew from small arms fire and shell splinters. Over the frontal arc it resists heavy machine gun fire.

Mobility
The Type 82 has a very good mobility on roads and medium cross country mobility. The Isuzu V10 diesel engine provides up to 305 hp. The maximum speed on roads is 100 km/h. The Type 82 is not amphibious

Users
The Type 82 command post vehicle is used only by Japan. In accordance with local laws no weapon systems are available for export. A total of 231 vehicles were acquired. They remain in use today.
