Description

Pre Owened Vintage kit Box is shelf worn
The Type 74 is a modern Japanese MBT. The first prototypes of this car appeared in the mid-1960s, and serial production continued in 1975-1988. It is assumed that a total of approx. 900 vehicles of this type of all versions were built. The tank is powered by a single engine Mitsubishi 10ZF Model 21 with 750 hp. The basic armament is a single 105mm tank gun, and the additional armament is two 7.62mm and 12.7mm machineguns.

The Type 74 tank was developed to complement and later replace the Type 61 car. Compared to its predecessor, the new vehicle received a completely different main armament (105 mm gun instead of 90 mm gun), significantly better armor - especially for the front hull and turret - as well as a more powerful engine, which improved the traction properties of the tank. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was responsible for the development and production of the Type 74. The new tank was comparable to the Leopard 1 or M60 vehicles. From the 1990s, it was slowly being replaced by the Type 90 tank in the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.
