Description

Top-Grade Scania
This R/C model assembly kit recreates the Scania 770 S 6x4, a double rear-axle drive trailer head equipped with a 16.4-liter V8 diesel turbo engine capable of 770hp added in 2020 to the Swedish manufacturer Scania's top-grade S Series - which had undergone a full model change in 2016, its first for 21 years. The model has a highly realistic body, with parts included to depict customizations such as a roof bar featuring light pods, grille bar, low bar and side bars, plus metal transfers to capture V8 and 770 S emblems. The interior gets the detailed Tamiya treatment, too, with depictions of the modern dashboard design and even the V8 embossings on the seats. Its ladder frame features aluminum side channels with resin cross members, and power from the front-mounted motor is delivered to two rear axles via a 3-speed transmission and propeller shaft. A built-in differential gear on each axle enables smooth cornering. Highly-realistic suspension utilizes metal leaf springs and friction dampers, and the model enjoys easy driving thanks to the float-mounted die-cast front and reinforced resin rear axles.

★Take a closer look at the model's visage, with the front grille bar and low bar under the bumper giving a customized look.

★Just like on the full-size truck, the 2-sheet mirrors have 3D surfaces, recreated here with the use of metal-plated parts.

★The light bar on the roof has five pods, which can be lit up to great effect with the addition of separately sold LEDs.

★Matte finish metal plated parts depicting the non-slip steps add yet another layer of detail to this fascinating model.

★The model's three-speed transmission allows shifting while the model is on the move, for a truly immersive experience.

★Axles are molded in reinforced plastic and supported by metal leaf springs, in a trunnion suspension like that seen on the real truck.

★Double-tire rear wheels are employed to take care of the model's drive. They are given an eye-catching chrome finish.

★A coupler is installed on the back of the head to allow connection with one of the trailers in Tamiya's extensive line-up.

★Side skirts also feature recreations of the indented steps. If desired, LEDs can also be installed in the marker lamps.

★Rear combination lights and fenders are depicted with realism. The various lights can be illuminated with separately-sold LEDs.

★A sticker is also included to depict the classic Scania-Vabis logo from the 1950s-1960s, should the fancy take you!

★Headlight and fog lamp reflectors (just like on the full size truck) help light up your model in authentic fashion.

★Left: The famous Scania griffin logo is included on the sticker sheet, and can be added to the truck.

★Right: See this impressive model in action in this video, uploaded to our official YouTube channel!

Realistic Lights, Sounds, and Vibration
Tamiya Multi-Function Control Units (included for Japanese market only, available separately overseas) offer light, sound, and vibration operation to accompany your R/C truck experience. Headlights, brake lights, fog lamp, hazard lights and turn signal operations are also at your fingertips.
