Description

Mazda RX-7 Group B Rally Car 1985 Acropolis rally Carlsson/Melander
1:18 scale resin sealed body collectors model.

The European Mazda Rally Team created this group B RX-7 back in 1984. It is distinctive thanks to an impressive rear wing and its Wankel engine giving it 300 horsepower for 960 kg. Despite lack of funding, the RX-7 with its rotary engine and driven by the Swede Ingvar Carlsson, ended up on the podium at the Acropolis Rally in 1985 after an impressive race. This third place would be its best performance for this competitive Japanese car. His retirement would come at the end of the season, a few months before the ban on impressive group B cars by the FIA.
