The presented car was developed to be replaced in FIA races World Endurance Championship Toyota TS040 Hybrid, which competed in them in 2014-2015. Compared to its predecessor, it differs in improved aerodynamic properties, but above all in the power unit. It is a hybrid unit consisting of a 2.4-liter 6-cylinder internal combustion engine and electric motors using lithium-ion batteries. The maximum power of the entire engine is 1000 HP! The vehicle body is virtually entirely made of composite materials. The Toyota TS050 Hybrid turned out to be a very successful car, if only because in the 2018-2019 season the team participating in it (Toyota Gazoo Racing) won the constructors 'world championship and the drivers' world championship!
