CONTENTS: WOODEN MODEL SHIP KIT SANSON TUGBOAT
Build the beautiful 1/50 scale model ship Sanson, a classic deep tugboat from the last century. Aimed at modellers with an intermediate level of skills and knowledge, it is also a feasible model for beginners since the instructions are on video, making assembly easier. The assembly instructions have been greatly improved, so the building experience is much more enjoyable and less difficult. In addition, its construction system using a false keel and frames brings the assembly of your model closer to the construction of the real ship.
The Samson model ship kit contains all the necessary parts to build your model: 7 high-precision laser-cut plywood sheets, as well as birch strips round dowels, and veneers in oak wood. This is the first kit that contains oak veneer, making the model is much more realistic. It also comes with 1 photo-etched plate with numerous magnificent details, as well as accessories such as die-cast parts, brass rods, threads, wooden channels and much more.
For assembly, you can follow the new and precise step-by-step guide... On video! Our modelers have built the model by recording the assembly of each piece with their cameras. The kit does not contain printed instructions. In addition, you can scan the QR code that comes in the box. The drawing and parts list are digitized on this page. You can download them by clicking the 'Instructions' button.
Once it is built, the Sanson model ship measures 23.81'' (605mm) in length, 5.11'' (130mm) in width and 13.47'' (350mm) in height.
Finally, get the best finish with our Set of Acrylic Paints for Sanson Tugboat (277PACK23), sold separately.
KNOW THE TUGBOATS HISTORY: SANSON
Discover the Sanson, the new 2023 edition of the well-known wooden model tugboat from the 1940s. Equipped with a powerful 2,000 CV steam boiler, the vessel could develop speeds of 14 knots while coming to the rescue of much larger vessels.
In the middle of the 19th century, navigation underwent a great revolution, the main factor being the introduction of mechanical propulsion. As a consequence, ships gradually increase their size and displacement, losing in the process the ease of maneuvering in docks and ports.
As a result of this, the tugboats were born, new types of small-tonnage vessels and shallow draft but with more than enough motive power and maneuverability to assist vessels much larger than themselves.
