The Curtiss F11C Goshawk was an American in-flight fighter and fighter-bomber from the interwar period. The machine was a biplane with a classic chassis. The prototype flight took place in 1932. Serial production started in the same year. Only 30 aircraft of this type were built, along with prototypes. The drive was provided by a single engine Wright R-1820-78 Cyclone 700 hp. The deck armament consisted of two 7.62 mm machine guns. The machine could carry a load of bombs weighing up to 215 kilograms.
The Curtiss F11C Goshawk was developed by the US Navy as a new on-board aircraft intended for operation from US Navy aircraft. One of the requirements of the US Navy was the use of a new Wright engine. In the course of serial production, three main development versions were created: F11C-2 (basic version), F11C-3 (version with a changed engine) and BFC-2 Hawk. The BFC-2 version of the aircraft survived in the US Navy until 1938, and relatively quickly began to be perceived as machines that did not meet the requirements of the future battlefield.
