Thunder Models 1/35 US Heavy Wrecker Ward LaFrance M1000 Series 2
This 1/35 scale kit (Item 35201) depicts the "Series 2" variant of the Ward LaFrance M1000 Heavy Wrecker. This early production military version is visually distinct for retaining the elegant, civilian-style curved front fenders, offering a unique look compared to the angular, flat-fendered later production models (Series 4 and 5).
Transitional Design: Accurately captures the specific features of the Series 2, combining the "civilian" curved sheet metal fenders and early grille layout with military-grade recovery equipment and chassis updates.
High-Detail Engine: Includes a complete and intricate replica of the Continental 22R 6-cylinder petrol engine, along with the transmission and transfer case assembly.
Complex Recovery Gear: Features a fully detailed Gar Wood crane system with twin booms, winches, and outriggers that can be assembled in transport or operation modes.
Detailed Cab: The open-style cab includes a fully appointed interior with the correct early dashboard layout, controls, and seats.
Chassis & Suspension: Meticulously reproduces the heavy-duty 6x6 drivetrain and suspension, utilizing slide-mold technology for the main frame rails to ensure perfect alignment.
Multimedia Parts: Comes with a fret of photo-etched brass for fine details (such as tool clamps, meshes, and placards) and a decal sheet for US Army and Allied units.
Accessories: Includes a full set of recovery tools, chains, and jerry cans to populate the wrecker bed.
Specifications:
Scale: 1:35
